“Scooter
Strays” is dedicated to my wonderful dog, Scooter,
with whom I’ve learned so much on our many enjoyable
adventures.

The story is about an inquisitive dog who sets out
on his own. It is quite common for a dog to wander away
from home. This book will help instill in children the
need to be responsible guardians for their companion
animals, while at the same time offering an interactive
way to decide what adventure Scooter will take next.
“Scooter
Strays” was originally an interactive story on
the Washington
Humane Society’s Kid’s website. All
profit from the sale of this book will be donated to
the Washington Humane Society (WHS) in Washington, DC.
Founded in 1870, the Washington Humane Society is a
wonderful organization that takes care of over 15,000
animals every year. WHS offers many programs such as
adoptions, humane education, a low-cost spay/neuter
clinic, and humane law enforcement.

"This is a wonderfully interactive saga about
a lost dog that will help children develop their empathy
and understanding of fellow creatures whose well-being
is everyone's duty in a civilized society."
